About the 2006 Teams

Every summer, 30-50 college students gather at Keynote’s Indiana headquarters to be trained and sent out on the road to proclaim God’s love through music and the performing arts. The posts in this weblog are taken from email reports sent by each of these touring teams.

  • Young Isaac is an acoustic alternative band with jazz undertones. Performing songs from artists such as John Mayer, Nickel Creek, Sonja Kitchell and KT Tunstall, this band takes a look at life and the issues we face. Personal stories woven together with the songs set a platform from which Young Isaac communicates with their audiences about significance and forgiveness.
  • MangoFish is a modern rock band using current radio hits to lay a platform from which to share the Gospel. Using the music of today and the philosophies in the lyrics, the band addresses the idea of “who am I?” Ultimately, there is One who knows us intimately and desires to have a relationship with us – Jesus Christ. Artists covered include Jimmy Eat World, Three doors down, Muse and Finch.
  • Swerve is a pop/rock band with a female lead. Covering artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Natasha Bedingfield, flyleaf, Paramore and more, this upbeat band will address the issues we face everyday. Whether it’s a high school crowd, college or military, Swerve desires to be real with their audience and share with them about the hope we have in Christ.
  • Proof of Purchase is a praise and worship band using the style of Revival Generation, Passion, Sonic Flood and others. No matter where we are in a relationship with God, we have a deep need to honor and worship Him for who He is. That is the desire of Proof of Purchase – to lead people into the Lord’s presence and allow His Spirit to do a work.

This year Keynote is partnering with two other ministries who are sending thier own traveling teams:

  • The Impact Movement ministers to African American college students. Their band, Infinit Impact, covers contemporary urban gospel artists such as Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, MaryMary and Donnie McClurkin, to present the perspective that life can be immeasurably greater with a connection to its author – Jesus Christ.
  • Here’s Life Inner City is the compassionate urban miistry of Campus Crusade for Christ. Their traveling dinner theater, Snapshots From A City, recreates the vibrant, colorful world of an urban restaurant and challenges audiences to capture the caring heart of Christian love for the poor.
