We all need hope this year, don’t we? In the midst of pandemic, natural disasters, and racial and political turmoil, it’s easy to lose hope.
But those of us who have come to know Jesus have a relationship with the One who is the source of never-ending hope. The Child whose birth we celebrate grew up to die in our place and rise to everlasting life. He is now our Great High Priest giving us direct access to God and grace for all our needs. And someday He will return to reign as King, bringing true justice, peace and healing to this broken world. What an amazing reason to have hope!
Another reason for hope is seeing what God is doing in lives right now. I recently attended an online Cru conference and heard updates about what’s happening on campuses across the country. Jordan, a Cru staff member at the University of Arkansas, said he contacted ten fraternities and offered to give each one a 10-minute zoom talk on being a man while at college. Four talks connected him with 250 students, and Jordan offered to buy tacos for those who would meet with him for lunch. Out of the 100 men who took him up on his offer, 40 of them placed their trust in Christ! Jordan said, “I’ve never seen fruit like this in my 20 years of doing ministry!”
God is doing amazing things through Cru, and I feel honored to be part of it. By using my creative gifts I’m able to help equip our staff on campus to bring the hope of Jesus to students.
I want to thank you for your partnership in equipping messengers for God’s mission. You are helping students experience the hope that only Jesus gives!
Merry Christmas!
