Thank you for praying for my time on the coaching team for the Bible Study Methods course! As always, it was a privilege and joy for me to work with our newest Cru® staff members! This course is part of our Institute of Biblical Studies (IBS), part of the training required for all Cru missionaries. Every time I coach, I’m grateful for the opportunity to help shape these wonderful men and women who deeply love the Lord and desire to connect others with Him.
This summer I coached 10 people during our daily workshops and gave one of the 10 lectures. My topic was how to use the principles they were learning in our course to evaluate and adapt studies written by other people.
About a week after I returned home on July 3, I was surprised to see a card in my mailbox (yes, for my paper mail, not my email!) from one of the young women who was in my coaching group. Here’s what she wrote:
“Denise,
Thank you so much for your teaching, guidance, and care during our IBS classes. You were an awesome leader, and it is clear you have a true passion for teaching, as well as a Holy-Spirit-driven love of people; you truly wanted us to know our Lord better & see the beauty of His word, & I appreciate that so much. I am grateful to have met you, and I hope to catch up with you again the next time I’m in Indy!”
Her note was so encouraging! I hope it encourages you, too, because your partnership has enabled me to do this. Thank you for helping me equip messengers for God’s mission!
Please Pray…
- that the Cru staff members who took this course will use these study tools to dig deeply into scripture and let it change them to grow more and more like Christ
- that they will rely on God’s grace and provision as they look for financial partners for their ministries
- for my team (Campus Innovation) as we return to our regular ministry in August.
